Okay, first of all, I'm not going to change that speech from the Tear. It hints at the fact that the Dragonians are not actually the protagonists here.
I am going to change one little thing though-the party accompanies Serge to the chamber...and promptly call out the Tear.
Tarnruff: Um, say what? I've seen more ecological devastation from [i]my[/i] people. Mutated humans or not, demihumans are not blameless in their relationship with the planet; some are just hypocrites about it.
Leena: Someone should really tell that to the ghost of my favorite teacher. He was a rabid ecologist and people listened to him
Guile: ...what delusion. I saw the great Reptite civilization at its hight, and it enslaved the world around it; the shy hairless apes were as such because we were nearly hunted to extinction.
Harle: Ack. Blah-de-blah, blah, blah. These things are [i]always[/i] whining about how everything was better on their Earth...
This then sets off a discussion of what Lavos is, and eventually the party realizes he manipulates things to inflame conflict, especially hyper-destructive conflict that selects for the strongest life forms. The only reason Lavos didn't chose Reptites is because they weren't a species that survived his fall, no other; they were a people, like any other, with flaws.
